Professor Richey has worked extensively in litigation of business-related disputes, trademark and copyright issues, as well as advertising law compliance. A former principal with Riordan & McKinzie in California, she also served as a staff law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. While in private practice, Professor Richey acted as appellate counsel in the Ninth Circuit’s Pro Bono Program and as a member of the Los Angeles County Superior Court Judicial Arbitration Panel. Since joining Pierce Law, Professor Richey has taught Trademarks and Deceptive Practices, Federal Trademark Registration Practice, Copyright Law, Advertising Law, InfoLiberties, and Federal Courts. She has served as a panelist for the New Hampshire Bar Association in programs devoted to teaching intellectual property law to non-specialist, and to addressing privacy concerns raised by e-commerce. Her outside teaching has included workshops on intellectual property law sponsored by the World Intellectual Property Organization and UNITRAD, the training arm of the United Nations.
